Award-winning PR & Digital Media Agency is seeking a full-time Public Relations Specialist with two to four years of experience at a marketing, advertising and/or PR agency or client-side marketing/advertising/PR department for our home office in Addison. Responsibilities
Champion is looking for a Public Relations Specialist who can:
- Serve as a polished, professional role model with a positive attitude
- Confidently write press releases, white papers, blogs and pitches in the correct brand voice with minimal supervision and edits
- Build client and team trust through quality writing and consistently meeting deadlines
- Anticipate the needs of account teams and respond proactively to their requests
- Communicate clearly and set clear expectations
- Present “big ideas” to clients and/or account leads
- Craft customized pitches for reporters and producers
- Successfully pitch local, national, business and trade media
- Develop and nurture relationships with media contacts
- Edit award submission documents as requested
- Contribute to the agency’s growth by taking on additional projects as needed
- Participate confidently in meetings and consistently contribute to brainstorming sessions
- Collaborate with internal teams to align messaging and strategy across PR, digital and social channels.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2-4 years of PR experience
- Agency experience is a plus
- Familiarity with Muck Rack or similar pitching platforms
The ideal candidate has a college degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related discipline; is a team player who is also comfortable working with limited supervision; has two to four years of experience; has outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; and is energetic, organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated.
